Our Divisions

Trophy Club Roanoke baseball has multiple divisions based on a players age and skill level.  Each division is outlined below for your convenience.

Fall Season

Our fall season registration begins late summer and runs typically through early August, followed by Rec Coach Looks.  Once teams are formed, coaches will reach out to players with information on season expectations, games, and practice times. Teams typically start the season with 2 practice slots, and reduce to 1 practice slot once games start in September.  The season typically runs for 8 weeks with playoffs for some age divisions.

Spring Season

Our spring season registration begins in December and runs typically through early February, followed by Advanced Rec tryouts and Rec Coach Looks. Once teams are formed, coaches will reach out to players with information on season expectations, games, and practice times. Teams typically start the season with 2 practice days, and reduce to 1 practice slot once games start in mid/end March.  The season typically runs for 8 weeks with playoffs for some age divisions following the regular season.

Summer Season

Tryouts for the summer All-Star season are typically held towards the end of the spring season.

Teams are generally comprised by the top performing players within an age group and are constructed through a combination of Spring-coach feedback and tryouts.  For each age division, there is generally one All-Star team formed.  Teams are assembled based on player, tournament and coach availability.  The summer tournament season generally runs from late May through early July.

Note: All-Star players should be able to achieve a level of competitive success, while also being placed in a situation where there are not safety concerns due to the advanced speed and level of play typical of a tournament environment.

Tournament team players are expected to attend all practices and games.  Parents and players need to understand that we cannot play everyone all the time.  Some players may only play the minimum amount while others may play the entire game. The focus is on doing what is best for the team.

Players presented with the opportunity to play on the All-Star team need to understand that there are more players wanting to be part of the team than there are spots on the roster and therefore they have a responsibility to make the most of their opportunity. If for any reason a parent feels that the player cannot meet the obligations as stated above or feel that the tournament environment is not for their player they should let the coach know prior to the start of practice so that another player can be selected for the roster.

An additional fee will apply to all All-Star players to cover the additional cost incurred by entering tournament baseball.
